Introducing the exciting new expansion at Crossbasket Castle
Over the last few months, Laura McAulay, the event sales manager at luxurious Crossbasket Castle, has been highlighting to us all the delights this gem of a venue has to offer.
She’s told us how you can plan a beautiful exclusive use wedding at Crossbasket and talked us through her top 5 tips for the perfect Scottish castle wedding – after all, she should know!
And now she has more exciting news to share.
“Our beautiful five star hotel is undergoing an exciting £15 million further development, opening 1st August 2024,” says Laura.
“The expansion will add 40 new hotel rooms as well as two five-bedroom eco lodges, two spa lodges with three dedicated treatment rooms in each and ‘Trocadero’s’, our 100 seater restaurant with its own cocktail bar, a unique experience which incorporates live music, amazing food and exceptional service – the first of its kind in Scotland!”
She adds there will also be a courtyard bar accommodating 100 guests.
Reasons to get excited
Of course, we already knew Crossbasket Castle is a dreamy fairytale wedding destination.
The venue situated on the outskirts of Blantyre, near Glasgow, dates back to the 17th century and boasts impressive historic architecture, a stunning estate and features like a tower honeymoon suite and dining overseen by Michelin Star chef Michel Roux Jr.
But what does the enhanced offering at the venue mean for couples planning their wedding here?
“It gives couples the opportunity to stay on the estate for longer, with more of their loved ones,” Laura explains.
“Our two stunning five-bedroom lodges I think will be perfect to stay in the night before the wedding, and the Spa lodge is the perfect place for a pre or post-wedding pamper!”
With so many more bedrooms on offer for family and friends to stay over it is hoped even more couples will consider Crossbasket for their wedding.
“We will be able to accommodate over 120 guests on site and we are offering great discounted accommodation rates to wedding guests,” explains Laura.
“The additional bedrooms means our wonderful couples can continue their celebration with more of the wedding party.”
And Laura is also excited for the opening of Trocadero’s.
“I think it will be a huge bonus, offering entertaining Sunday brunches,” she says.
“This would be an amazing way to round up an incredible weekend, only a stone’s throw away from your wedding venue!”
We can picture guests exchanging stories from the day before over pancakes already!
