The most instagrammable engagement ring shape revealed

You know the song lyrics; “Square-cut or pear-shaped, these rocks don’t lose their shape, diamonds are a girl’s best friend.”

And if you’re going to be wearing it for the rest of your life it had better be one that you absolutely love.

It may come down to personal taste and preference but when you’re taking your ring selfie – hello just engaged vibes! – is your ring shape the most instagrammable?

New data has given an insight into current engagement ring trends for this season and it suggests that the most popular one this season is an emerald cut diamond.

The data from Abbott Lyon compared Instagram hashtags and emerald cut diamond rings outranked other major favourites such as ‘round cut diamond ring’, ‘cushion cut diamond ring’, ‘princess cut diamond ring’, ‘oval cut diamond ring’, ‘pear cut diamond ring’ and ‘marquise cut diamond ring’.

If you’ve opted for an emerald cut diamond with its elongated, rectangular shape and chiselled step cuts you’re in good company.

Celebrities including Victoria Beckham, Beyoncé, The Duchess of Sussex and Jennifer Lawrence all sport emerald cut diamond engagement rings.

    2. second best – oval cut

Oval cuts have all the brilliance of a round cut diamond but a more unique shape so it’s no wonder they get the coveted second place in the most Instagrammable engagement rings table.

Celebrity wearers include Blake Lively, Kourtney Kardashian (who managed to break hers!) and Hailey Bieber.
