Dumfries House

About this business

A Historic Scottish Wedding Venue

Choosing a wedding venue is one of the most significant steps in planning your special day. The right setting does more than host your celebration.

Dumfries House, headquarters of The King’s Foundation, sits on a beautiful 2,000-acre estate in Ayrshire, Scotland. The house itself is surrounded by beautiful gardens and woodlands.

The estate offers a blend of history and elegance that ensures every wedding is both deeply personal and completely unforgettable. As a wedding venue it is incredibly versatile. Be it for an intimate or larger celebration, the events team can help you create your dream wedding. The magnificent 18th-century house provides an elegant backdrop to your wedding day, with a variety of location options for both your ceremony and reception.

In 2007, a consortium led by His Majesty The King, then Prince of Wales, purchased the House and its contents to save this significant piece of heritage for the nation.

Your guests will get to experience a special welcome into the House via the grand steps. Once inside, each of our elegant and unique rooms will leave you with memories that will last a lifetime.

All wedding bookings at Dumfries House support and enable the charitable work of The King’s Foundation, who offer education and training opportunities on site in traditional craft, STEM, textiles, hospitality and more.
