Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom Bespoke Dress Design and Making
In addition to bridal gowns, your business offers bespoke dress design and making services for the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom. These dresses are designed to complement the wedding theme while highlighting the elegance and grace of the wearer. We provide a tailored experience, from selecting luxurious fabrics to customizing every detail to suit individual preferences. What services do you offer?
We design and make wedding dresses, and mother of the bride dresses, mother of the groom and flower girls.
If you get your wedding dress or mother of the bride – groom dress from us, we also offer bridesmaids dress service.
Everything we do is designed and made on the premises.
How long does it take?
This depends on the difficulty of the style and your availability for fittings. During the winter season we can often things around in a few weeks, during spring and summer it takes longer.
We love when thing are not booked in last minute it makes for a better experience all round.
I want to loose weight
We hear this all the time and have worked with women with issue for many years. We are able to help by drawing on our huge experience and we can design and plan your outfit in advance and then make it quite close to your wedding when we know what shape and size you are. This is something that draws on a lot of resources for our little workshop. So if it is something you would like to do, please get in touch early.
How much does it cost?
We have a price guide you can sign up for on our website one for brides and one for mums.
Our wedding dresses starts at £1600 and mother of the bride dresses starts at £700.
Then prices goes up from there. The things that adds to costs is what type of fabric you chose, silks are more expensive than manmade fibres. The level of hand work involved in the outfit, so hand beading, lace that is attached by hand. And then the complexity of the style. Things like detachable bits and pieces on the dress, all those adds to the cost.
If you base your outfit on something we have done before is also reducing the cost as we will have patterns tried and tested, instead of something completely new design.
How many fittings?
We have a lot of brides coming to see us from London or abroad. And this usually does not cause any problems.
We first meet and discuss the style, look at fabrics etc. this can be done on a video call if you live far away, and we will just post the samples out.
We then book you in for a fitting of the template, we make a sample of your outfit in a much less expensive material, this will help us both visualise the final outfit and make sure we are on the same page.
We then cut and sew your outfit in the real materials, and you come back to try it on. At this stage we pin on lace, motifs, hem buttons all of this.
We then invite you back for a final appointment. If you come to Edinburgh over a week or so, we can make your dress there and then, depending on the complexity of the style and what else we have booked in for that time.
Can I have a coloured wedding dress?
Yes you absolutely can! Because we make everything bespoke to the individual, we can accommodate colours and unusual design features like the girl that met her fiancé on a boat and had a nautical themed lace on her wedding day. We LOVE stuff like that and want to be in on it all.
