Sheila Fleet Jewellery, Glasgow
About this business
Located within the beautiful surroundings of Princes Square, Sheila Fleet Jewellery brings contemporary Scottish craftsmanship to the heart of Glasgow. Founded by award-winning jewellery designer Sheila Fleet OBE, our family-run business has been designing and making jewellery inspired by Orkney and Scotland’s remarkable natural beauty, history and culture since 1993.
Â
Every collection begins with Sheila herself. As the sole designer and even at the age of 80, she continues to create every piece from her Orkney workshop, drawing inspiration from the islands she calls home. Whether influenced by the movement of the sea, colourful wildflowers, ancient archaeology or rugged coastlines, each collection captures a unique moment in nature and transforms it into timeless jewellery.
Once designed, every piece is handcrafted by our skilled team in our workshop in Orkney. Traditional craftsmanship lies at the heart of everything we create, with each design carefully cast, assembled, hand-finished and polished before leaving the workshop. Our signature glass enamel is individually applied by hand, creating the distinctive colours that have become a hallmark of Sheila Fleet Jewellery. We work with sterling silver, gold, platinum and rare Scottish Gold, creating jewellery that combines exceptional quality with meaningful design.
Whether you’re planning your wedding or searching for the perfect engagement ring, our Glasgow showroom offers a warm, welcoming environment where you can explore our collections with expert guidance. Our experienced team understand that choosing wedding rings and jewellery is a deeply personal experience and are dedicated to helping every couple find pieces that reflect their individual story.
Situated within the iconic Princes Square, our Glasgow shop has been thoughtfully designed to bring a little of Orkney to the city. Flowing curves, natural textures and sculptural features inspired by seaweed and the surrounding coastline create a unique setting that reflects the landscapes behind our jewellery.
Our engagement and wedding ring collections include contemporary and traditional styles, handcrafted in Scotland using precious metals including exclusive Scottish Gold. We also offer bespoke options, gemstone choices and engraving services, allowing couples to create jewellery that is truly personal and made to last a lifetime.
At Sheila Fleet Jewellery, every piece is designed and handcrafted in Orkney and inspired by the country’s extraordinary natural beauty. A visit to our Glasgow showroom is an opportunity to discover authentic Scottish jewellery, exceptional craftsmanship and a welcoming experience that celebrates one of life’s most memorable moments.
What is enamel?
Enamel is a type of coloured glass that is fused to metals at extremely high temperatures to create a beautifully smooth, durable finish. Sheila Fleet’s signature vitreous enamel is carefully applied by hand by our skilled enamellers in Orkney, with many striking colours inspired by Scotland’s landscapes, seas and skies. This distinctive technique has become one of the defining features of Sheila Fleet Jewellery.
Â
What is Scottish Gold and what makes it rare?
Scottish Gold is one of the world’s rarest precious metals, sourced from Scotland’s only commercial gold mine at Cononish. We are one of only two jewellers in the world with access to this exceptional material, which is crafted into 18ct gold jewellery. Its rich, warm colour and extremely limited availability make it a truly special choice for engagement rings, wedding bands and wedding jewellery. Choosing Scottish Gold creates a meaningful connection to Scotland, making it particularly popular with couples celebrating their love and Scottish heritage, while also making an exceptional heirloom piece to be treasured and passed down through generations.
Â
Can I personalise my jewellery?
Yes. We offer a range of ways to make a piece uniquely yours. Our jewellery can be customised with your choice of precious metals and gemstones, while selected enamelled designs are available in a variety of colours inspired by Orkney’s natural landscapes. We can also create unique enamel colours to match your wedding colour scheme, making your jewellery even more personal to your special day. In addition, we offer an engraving service, allowing you to add initials, a meaningful date or a personal message inside your ring to create a lasting keepsake.
Â
How much time should I allow for purchasing wedding rings and jewellery?
We recommend visiting us around three to six months before your wedding date. This allows plenty of time to explore our collections, discuss any customisations and ensure your rings are ready well in advance of your special day. If your wedding is sooner, please speak to our team – we’ll always do our best to help.
Â
What are some popular collections worn by brides?
If you’re looking for something simple and elegant, our Birthstone Droplets, Contemporary Solitaire and Primula Scotica collections are a beautiful choice. For brides who prefer a pop of colour or more of a statement, our Lunar, Daisies and Morning Dew collections are particularly popular. Whether your style is understated or bold, our team can help you find pieces that perfectly complement your wedding look.
Â
Do you offer men’s jewellery?
Yes. Alongside our men’s wedding rings, we also offer a range of jewellery and accessories including cufflinks, kilt pins, tie slides and tie tacks. Many of our wedding bands are available in a variety of widths and precious metals, making it easy to find a design that suits your personal style.
Â
What metals do you use?
Our jewellery is available in sterling silver, 9ct and 18ct yellow, white and rose gold, platinum, and Scottish Gold. We carefully select high-quality precious metals to ensure every piece is beautifully crafted, comfortable to wear and made to last for generations.
Â
How and where is your jewellery made?
Every piece of Sheila Fleet Jewellery is designed by Sheila Fleet OBE and handcrafted in our workshop in Orkney, Scotland. Our skilled team carry out every stage of the process, from casting and assembling to hand-finishing, stone setting, enamelling and polishing. By keeping our production in Orkney, we maintain exceptional craftsmanship while staying true to the landscapes and heritage that inspire every design.
Â
How do I care for my jewellery?
To keep your jewellery looking its best, we recommend cleaning it regularly with a soft polishing cloth and storing it separately when not being worn. Remove jewellery before swimming, gardening, heavy lifting or using household cleaning products, and avoid applying perfume or cosmetics directly onto your jewellery. We also recommend having your engagement ring professionally checked and cleaned periodically to ensure gemstones remain secure.
Â
Can we choose matching wedding rings?
Absolutely. We offer a beautiful selection of matching wedding bands for couples, available in a variety of designs, precious metals and widths. Many of our engagement rings have perfectly matching or interlocking wedding bands, designed to sit seamlessly alongside the engagement ring. Whether you prefer coordinating styles or matching bands that reflect your own personalities, our team will help you find rings you’ll both treasure for a lifetime.
