How to place a wedding cake order? 
To place an order, simply fill out the wedding cake enquiry form on our website. You will be prompted to provide details such as your chosen wedding date, venue, number of guests, a brief description, and any special dietary requirements. Once you have submitted the form, I’ll respond to your email within 48 hours to confirm my availability, then you may book a complimentary discovery call.

How far in advance should we book?
We recommend that as soon as you know your date and have chosen a venue that you get in touch to book your consultation to avoid disappointment as we only work with one design at a time, the diary can fill up fast. Ideally is to allow at least 6-12 months in advance, especially for cakes that require a bit more detail and intricacy such as our Designer Collection and the Haute Couture Collection. For last minute requests, minimum 3 weeks’ notice is required to allow enough time for quoting, briefing & preparations.

Do you offer cake pickup, or is delivery available?
Unfortunately I do not offer customer collection for wedding cake due to their fragility. However, smaller (single tier) intimate wedding cakes/cupcakes may be collected from my cake studio located at Corstorphine Hill, Edinburgh.

I personally deliver and setup all my wedding cakes to the venue at the time agreed. It usually take 1-2 hours for setup (depends on cake design) and I will work with your wedding venue and other suppliers to ensure your cake is setup perfectly on the day. Your cake proposal will include the cost of delivery, this is calculated at approximately £1.5 per mile plus my hourly rate (varying by time).

In addition, I also provide on-site cake cutting service to ensure the cake is displayed and cut in a professional and aesthetically pleasing manner. Hourly rate will be charged.

We love this cake design, can you make the same?
Although we value inspirations and mood boards, replicating the exact design is not feasible as different designs involve various techniques, skills and mood. Even with my own cakes, I rarely make the exact same design simply because I cherish the opportunity to incorporate each couple’s unique story into my work, ensuring that every piece I craft is personalised and distinctive.

Nevertheless, your preference will certainly help us to understand you vision and wedding style, and I can certainly draw inspiration from the images you provided and craft a design that reflects who you are, shows your style and is utterly unforgettable.

Are you able to create wedding cakes that are free from allergens or allergy-friendly?
We try our best to be allergy friendly, please advise us if you have any dietary requirement before placing your order. We understand the importance of ensuring all guests can enjoy the wedding cake. While we cannot make the main wedding cake free from certain ingredients due to the texture needed for its structure, we do offer free-from options such as gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and soy-free side-cake or cupcakes for a small portion of your guests. These may be designed to match your main wedding cake.

Please note that while we will take the utmost caution in preparation, all of our cakes are still made in a kitchen using the same equipment. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absence of traces of allergens.

Encase of trace elements causing any severe reactions such asanaphylaxis etc. We do not take any responsibility and we recommend you to get the product from a supplier that can guarantee the absence of those ingredients.

Do you do cake sketch?
Absolutely yes! We love cake sketching as it allows us to be more creative and helps to validate all the ideas and visions.

Once you are all booked in, we will start the creative process and present you with an initial digital cake sketch based on your mood board we discussed in our initial consultation. This allows us to further discuss your likes and dislikes, wedding concept and subsequently, we’ll offer up to four complimentary cake sketches. Following our discussions, we’ll provide you with a tailored quotation based on the various design options presented. 

What is your cancellation policy?
Deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable in the event of cancellation. 

Cancellation from within 60 days and at least 21 days before the wedding will forfeit the deposit plus half the remaining fees.

Cancellation with less than 21 days notice before the wedding are subject to full payment. If this has not already been paid then the final balance will be immediately payable upon cancellation.

There may be a rare occasion when YiShi Cake needs to cancel an order due to exceptional circumstances beyond our control. In this case, as much notice as possible of the cancellation will be given and any monies paid, including deposits will be refunded. If required, we will also assist in finding a replacement baker of the same high standard to make your cake for you.
