Let’s Talk Weddings EP18

Hi and welcome to Let's Talk Weddings with your Scottie Suedding and today in the studio I've got Sam Spratt from Kromlix. Welcome Sam.

Sam: Thank you very much.

Lesley: I'm very excited to have you here.

Sam: Me too. This is gorgeous. I absolutely love this.

Lesley: It's so cool isn't it?

Sam: It's nice. It's nice.

Lesley: Everybody really likes it. Every time they come in they always go, oh it's studio spray. Yeah no the guys do, the guys here do a great job for us so yeah it's fabulous. So, Gromlax, tell us all about it. It's had a massive refurb. You've done some incredible A-list weddings. Let's dive in. Let's get this show on the road. Right, so the big refurb. Tell us all about it. How much did they spend on it? Because it looks insane.

Sam: Yeah, so roughly around sort of 13 million.

Lesley: Is it all?

Sam: Yeah, I know. It's just amazing. So we were closed for for just over five months, so we've added now.

Lesley: I bet that felt like quite a long time, the way.

Sam: It did, but it went so quick, so I was like, oh, I'll get all of this done, I'll get, I'll clear down all of the system, just pick up the pliers, and then I'm like, oh my God, it's April, like, where's the time when?

Lesley: It does just fly, doesn't it?

Sam: It was just, yeah, it feels like it was yesterday, but I'm like, oh my God, we're in October, like, where's the time when?

Lesley: I know, so what was done as part of that 13 million refurb?

Sam: Yeah, so we've added two new restaurants. So we've got our fine dining space.

Lesley: Which is beautiful.

Sam: It's absolutely stunning. And then we've opened our garden room restaurant, which is just more than modern aspects of this sort of hotel. It's bright, it's airy, big open windows into the garden. It's just absolutely beautiful.

Lesley: And was that an extension or?

Sam: Yeah, so it used to be, it was just covered in like hedges and flowers. You can even see the garden wall. So they've incorporated that, that that's like the main feature. Yeah, it's just, it's absolutely amazing. That was the biggest part of this whole, sort of, re-farming scene, it's sort of come to life from, like, not seeing a wall at all to being the main feature. It's just, that's gorgeous.

Lesley: Because it's just an open space now, isn't it? You can just see, like, out from beyond. It's beautiful.

Sam: Yeah, absolutely. Especially when it's raining. It still looks just as beautiful. It's light, it's eerie, it's, yeah. It's one of my favourite rooms now. Yeah, absolutely. I love it.

Lesley: Yeah, because we obviously did a photo shoot with you. for this particular issue, which was amazing. We did a groom's wear shoot with you. And honestly, we just felt like, cause you go into some places and staff are just like, yeah, yeah, whatever, but honestly, your staff were just so attentive and so beautiful with us and the food, oh, the food, the food was incredible. Honestly, we were like, come on, we've got a dog bag, we can't take that away to take home. That's Ted's dinner sorted. But no, honestly, it was just, everything was incredible, like the staff were amazing, the food was incredible, so hats off, because I've obviously got an incredible team there, which is just brilliant.

The team and guest accommodation

Sam: Yeah, and especially because we were closed for so long, we managed to do so much training with the staff as well, where you don't always get that one-to-one with sort of each individual team member. And most of the time we were, as much as we weren't working, we had incentive days we were working with suppliers and we worked with sort of Kim and Andy are really big on the community work as well. So we were doing dementia cafe and we're doing afternoon teas with them, working with the kids at the Dumpling Centre so yeah everyone kept busy and it went really quick. It was nice seeing it all come together as well.

Lesley: No absolutely and how many bedrooms is Chrome like Scott?

Sam: So we have 20 so we've got 19 within the house and with the refurbishment we added on three extra bedrooms and so because of how old the house is we don't have your usual lift so we've added on two cottage rooms just on the ground floor and we've also now got a fully accessible suite which is just you walk in and you're like this isn't your typical accessible suite it's just absolutely gorgeous.

Lesley: So we never got to see it because I think it was booked out, how dare they!

Sam: And then we have our Laurel gate lodge as well which is one of my favourite rooms so it's a little cottage when you drive in on your right hand side so it's got your little kitchenette so it's really nice for your sort of four to five night stay that you can just sort of be cosy in your own little space, your own little back garden as well.

Lesley: And I'm assuming if you've got like a wading couple they could hire that out for as like a sort of mini moon for like after the wading date.

Sam: Yeah it's just nice. We normally suggest that that's where the grim gets ready just so that they're so far away apart that there's no like bumping in but yeah the sort of mini moons or like the pre-arrival is just perfect down there. Yeah. Their own little space.

Lesley: Absolutely and that's just so nice isn't it because then you don't have to worry about like transport because obviously it's his, I don't mean transport because we do need wedding cars and they're incredible. Yeah absolutely. I just mean like in terms of like he's on grounds she's on grounds and it's it's just a nice experience then for both of them isn't it? Yeah absolutely. It just does yeah.

Sam: It just makes it a little bit more special when the group sort of comes up and it's like okay this is my wedding day because because he's just as special as the bride as well.

Lesley: Oh, 100%, but they kind of get forgotten about doing it. They just get left in and they're like, we'll just pop you down there, we'll be fine. I would say, no, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. So obviously, like to book Chrome likes like, because obviously you've just opened up. So I'm assuming you've still got a few dates available still for maybe next year, 2028 and beyond.

Sam: Yeah, absolutely. So we've kind of just opened our 2028 diary and sort of last six months. So we've been seeing different kind of wedding packages come together. So we've just launched our part exclusive weddings as well. So if you don't want the full house and all of the 20 bedrooms, the part exclusive very much just gives you the left-hand side of the hotel. So you get the chapel, you get the library upstairs, a study for your suppliers, and then you get the beautiful glass house for either your ceremony or your wedding breakfast. So yeah, it's been amazing. especially sort of seeing it all come together and getting the photo shoot stand and speaking to all of the couples and getting their feedback as well especially the ones that we've had this year it's just been amazing.

Recent weddings and hospitality

Lesley: Yeah and talking about the weddings that you've had this year you've diffused celebrity weddings haven't you?

Sam: We have. I really like to talk about it. Yeah I'm really doing it.

Lesley: Okay let's talk about it. So um so Lorraine Kelly starts to get married there does she know?

Sam: Oh my gosh she was absolutely gorgeous. Yeah she was a stunner. She was beautiful. The two, I'm so glad that she'd done the second dress because she was absolutely stunning and the nicest people that you would ever meet as well. Even Lorraine, like we had meetings with Larry during the sort of planning processes and Rosie was so organised, which I absolutely loved. Like she knew what she wanted. Yeah, it was just seeing it all come to life with the marquee because we've not really done a marquee before. The last marquee that we'd done was Kim and Andy's wedding. So it'd been about 10, 11 years and seeing it get built and all the staff were like, oh my God, what is this? It was just amazing. And then having it featured in a little magazine was just, you're like, oh my God, I've done that.

Lesley: Yeah, because we tried to grab them, but they were like, no, we're in another magazine. And I was like, oh no, I'll be alone then.

Sam: It was just amazing. And myself and our events operations manager, Dave, it was the most amazing wedding day. and there were like, paparazzi, it's like a massive nose so all the gates were shut. And me and Dave went for a little walk just to be like, oh, we'll have a little nose and see where we're getting the photos done and we're like, I think that might be paparazzi. Me and Dave were running along the carpet.

Lesley: Really?

Sam: No, no, no, they're cheeky. They're so cheeky and I was like, I originally really stern and I'm not a stern person. I'm just like, not off the property. I cannot be here. Just seeing the whole aspect of the whole week out And their guests were so lovely, like the whole, yeah, the whole weekend was just amazing.

Lesley: I think because they are so lovely you automatically migrate yourself to lovely people so it just makes it easy.

Sam: Yeah, it was just, it was amazing.

Lesley: I've never made a living, Kelly, but she's just, everybody just talks about how beautiful a person she is, don't they?

Sam: She's just, she's just bonkers. And she was just…

Lesley: I love that.

Sam: Her laugh just got me, like every time she laughed I was like, it's hysterical. She was so nice, and then when they left as well, they were so nice to the staff as well and you don't always get that with sort of your A-list celebrities, but they were so pleasant to work with. They were really nice. So nice.

Lesley: So, obviously, you do have dates available for beyond, so if anybody wanted like a last minute winter wedding for maybe this year, have you got a few dates left?

Sam: Yeah, so our December diary, we've got quite a few dates left, we're pretty much picked up until then, which is amazing. But yeah, sort of looking into January, February, March, it's sort of all go, which is really exciting.

Lesley: That's exciting. And you're going along to the luxury Scottish wedding as well, aren't you?

Sam: Yes.

Lesley: Is it January?

Sam: Yeah, so it's our first time showcasing all the spaces that we've got now that we've got a proper wedding space as well. So yeah, I can't wait. So she's speaking to suppliers and the networking side of it. Just as much as the couples, but getting to know more suppliers is amazing.

Lesley: No, totally. And Tom and Drew, they do such an amazing show, like they really do. They go all out for their suppliers. And the suppliers that they're bringing in, they're always high end, which is great, because it's luxury Scottish wedding. So, yeah, it's just they're good people. They're good people. What other sort of facilities does Chromelex offer?

Tennis courts and the woodland retreat

Sam: Yeah, so we've obviously got the tennis courts.

Lesley: Which we show on, which is incredible. I think we say to the Cremes here company, So we've shot yours on the tennis court and it was like, what, what? And then, yeah, tennis racket and everything. And it was like, oh, I need to see this lately. And he loves it, totally loves it.

Sam: Yeah, so we've dashed it, obviously, in the Wimbledon colours, which is a massive part of everyone's wedding as well. And they're like, oh, we want to get photos on this tennis court. I'm like, okay, but then, it looks so good. And we've obviously, with the refurbishment, we add his honor with the retreat. So we work with Modem and Bamford to do facials, the massages, which is just amazing if they arrive, like the Bries and Grims arrive the day before, they come in and they get their massage, they're relaxed, and then we've just added our sauna and cold punch as well, which looks over the lock-in, which is just, you have a little sort of woodland walk-up, and you just, before you even get there, you're just like, ugh, like, you feel chilled, you're relaxed, and you're like, okay, this is, this is what I needed.

Lesley: And I think as well, when you've done so much planning and organizing, I think as soon as you're at your venue, you just naturally go, okay, I've done all the hard work, it's now up to these guys. You can hand the bat across to these guys to look after this. And as I said, obviously the Chromebook staff are just incredible, like they could not do enough for us. And I was just like, honestly, don't worry about us, we're just suppliers, we'll be in and out. And they're like, no, no, going to look after you. And I was like, oh, this is so nice, so nice, honestly. Honestly, because we don't get that all the time.

Sam: Oh, that's sad.

Lesley: I mean, to be fair, we don't need it, we're self-sufficient, but I think that's a really important part, that the suppliers are treated just as much as they get.

Sam: I think I found that some of the suppliers are really surprised when you're like, do you want a coffee? And they're like, oh, you need to treat your suppliers just as important because it works so many ways. We need to get on with them, they need to get on with us. And equally, they'll be seeing so many more wedding couples and they can easily recommend and go, all right, so you've just started planning, so why don't you look at Kromlix or why don't you look at this one? Absolutely.

Lesley: And that's where recommendations, you can't pay for that. There's something so incredible about a recommendation. And I think if you are looking after your suppliers, then they will recommend the bejeezus out of you guys quite rightly so.

Sam: Yeah, they'll look after you. Yeah, 100%. 100%.

Kim and Andy and the local community

Lesley: Um, so obviously you mentioned the tennis courts and you've mentioned coming on to a few times. So obviously, Andy Murray and Kim own Cromlex.

Sam: Yes. Yeah.

Lesley: Um, and they've had it now for a number of years and obviously they've just spent all that money on it as well. So it's just, get married and say that he's retired. He's not playing tennis anymore. So he's not playing tennis anymore.

Sam: I think he's such a busy man that he can never keep sort of tabs on him, but he…

Lesley: With a hotel or he's doing other stuff.

Sam: He's such a busy man, he just doesn't stop, he comes very much more sort of hotel side of it. Okay. So she's done most of the interior design.

Lesley: I know, she's such an eye.

Sam: Oh, it's such an eye. It's such an eye. It just wouldn't work. Okay. Wherever she goes, it's just… She works so well with the staff as well, which is so important that you don't always get that. The same with Andy as well, when he comes to the hotel, he's like a family member.

Lesley: That's so nice.

Sam: So yeah, we do loads of events with Kim and we do events with Judi as well, so yeah, it's really nice. Yeah. He's busy, but he definitely makes time when he is up for Steve and Fanny, he'll always pop in, he'll speak to the staff, he's on the tennis courts.

Lesley: I was going to say, did you play tennis up there?

Sam: Yeah, for sure, we had.

Lesley: That's great.

Sam: Judi was doing some coaching with the dumpling, sort of youngsters, and she was like Andy's in Dublin, she just phoned Andy and Andy came up and spoke to them and it was so nice, it was just having that, going back to the sort of community aspect, that's his sort of vibe. Yeah, and it's just so natural to him and he's such a lovely guy. Kim, she's just so sweet, like, yeah, she's amazing. The family, the whole family is just amazing.

Lesley: I think that's lovely because obviously he's reached like superstardom, hasn't he?

Sam: Yeah, absolutely.

Lesley: who he is. And the fact that his mum can just, his mum, Judy, can just phone him and say come down and speak to the kids. Oh, it's just so nice. And he does like that to me is just a beautiful soul. That's nice. Yeah. And giving them sort of motivation and all.

Sam: Yeah. To show them like this is what you can actually accomplish if you stick in. This is how you start reading. Yeah. Yeah. It's just amazing. And like you'll get photos of all the kids. Like he's just, he's so nice.

Lesley: Oh, that's so nice.

Sam: And he's just such a friendly guy and even Kim like you'd want to be able to approach sort of your hotel owners. They say hi they know everyone's name and you don't always get that which is really really nice.

Wedding packages and celebrations

Lesley: That's so nice and just to go back to the wedding aspect of it so you've mentioned you started mentioning about like packages and stuff like that that you do there so is there so do you have to take like a Friday through to Sunday or can you do like a one-day wedding or or like, can you just get married there? Like tell us all the juicy bits, tell us all the juicy bits.

Sam: It's all very different, so we basically work it round. So when the inquiry first comes in, we're looking at how many bedrooms do they need? How many guests are coming? Is it day, evening guests? And then we would sort of work with the couples based on what they would like. So we have our allotment package, which is really popular, just the two of them and one of our staff members would be the witness. really I love it like I'm like I'm a part of their like special day

Lesley: and you have many of them

Sam: like so many it's so popular because when I first started I was like I love my package I'm not sure like how that works it's so popular especially more in the older generation as well they just want they don't want the fast they don't want the big luxury wedding, they just want the day, somehow and then we have our part exclusive yes so this is where you have seven bedrooms all included so you've got the bidel suite you've got all of our high-end deluxe suites and our turret suites and then it's for 40 guests

Lesley: so is that a weekend or is that just a day

Sam: whenever okay we're quite open to during the week it's a sort of flat rate throughout midweek or weekends and then we've got our exclusive yes so our exclusive yes is the 20 bedrooms and you have the 34 acres and you've got full use of the full hotel which is amazing.

Lesley: So you get the full boona.

Sam: All of it is in full. You get everything. Which is really nice because using the new spaces that we've got so having your drinks reception in the garden room with the big open windows and if it's a nice day your guests just flow in and out which is just amazing. So yeah different packages depends on what they're looking for and then we can now do up to 120 which is just sort of perfect size for us as well.

Lesley: And to be fair that's probably a good sized wedding now because I think after covid like your numbers kind of dropped and people were doing more like sort of 50 during the day and then maybe up in it to 80 um but yeah it's slowly starting to get back up to like your 120 max um which is yeah so that's perfect it's absolutely perfect um and obviously you mentioned like your your sort of spa facilities as well like, no I know, I want to come. So yeah, so do you have an actual spa area like or is you're bringing people in like?

Relaxing and exploring the estate

Sam: Yeah, so the guests would normally arrive into reception and our porters would take the guests up so if it was raining maybe take them up in the guest cars or it's a lovely little woodland retreat about a sort of five minute walk. So we've got one sort of treatment room and then after your treatment you can head on through to the relaxation room which is Yeah, you just lie there and you're like, oh my god, that's amazing, and you get some herbal tea and all of the sort of herbs are from their state as well, so sort of keeping that connection as well, which is just lovely, and then you can sort of jaunt off to the sauna and the cold plunge just at your own leisure.

Lesley: Or walk around the 34 acres that you were talking about.

Sam: Yeah, you can just have a little wander, it's great.

Lesley: And who knew that it was so big?

Sam: Yeah, I think because when you just drive up the sort of main drive, you're like, oh, the main picture is what we see as Corn Licks, but you forget all the little sort of, you can walk into the woodlands, you can walk down to sort of little Kimbuk River, it's just, no matter what direction you go, it's just, it feels kind of such size, and it's just.

Lesley: And you're not bothered by any day apart from maybe sheep.

Sam: Yeah, sheep and cows are a little moaning, but yeah, it's amazing.

Lesley: It's very therapeutic. 100%. So get your wellies on

Sam: Yeah, even in the rain, if it is raining, we've got all of our welly boots and all of the rain jackets.

Lesley: I know, because they're right at the front. Do you want to love it?

Sam: The little baby ones as well, they're so cute.

Lesley: I know!

Sam: Because we take a picture and they are literally from this size and then they go all the way up and then you get the jackets hanging up as well when I jump. I love it. It's so nice. It's so cute.

Lesley: Because one of the guys actually in the studio here, he has this thing with his, I think I think it's his daughter, where they actually look for really cool entrances. And I was like, you have to go to Cromwell. You have to go to Cromwell. It's very unique.

Sam: Take her for a hot chocolate.

Lesley: So no, that's brilliant. I'm definitely going to book in because I love a wee spaddy. I love a spaddy. And also, what can wedding couples expect from the minute they sort of inquire to you? What's the process of that? that are, you know, like, so many meetings that you do with them, or like, just talk us through what people can expect.

From the first enquiry to a personal wedding

Sam: Yeah, so when the sort of initial inquiry first comes in, we all sort of touch base with them, so either phone call or via email, just to get a little bit, to know a little bit more about them, what they're looking for, so that when they do come for the show round, we're fully prepared, so we know what rooms we're going to show them, we know what kind of bedrooms do they need to see the fully accessible suite, so we'll sort of work or show round and dates round what we can show at the same time. And then following the show round, we go through all of the details. So sometimes it's couples first ever show round and they have no idea what to expect. And some of them are really nervous. They're like, it's like, you're coming for an interview, you're like, because it's like, they're like a deer in headlights. It's like, they've never, they don't know what to expect.

Lesley: They don't know maybe what questions to ask either which is such a shame like yeah and

Sam: I think we sort of run through the whole aspect so even if they're not booking with ourselves if they're going to someone else they know what to look for and ask for so yeah and I always say to my couples have you reached out to any suppliers and like oh we thought like this is the first thing we're like that's totally fine yeah this is your next step and if you want to book we'll sort of help you recommended supplier list and we'll send you all over that and we always say contact at least three or four suppliers because everyone's so different and meet them in person. Yeah it's really really important. And we always say they need to connect with you like it it needs to make a little jigsaw that they come together and it all sort of forms a part of your day.

Lesley: Because you spend so much time with your suppliers don't you?

Sam: And I think that's really important is when you're sort of booking a venue as well you need to have that connection with your wedding planner or your sort of events manager so that you aren't they both understand each other yeah that communication and the expectation is then say it like yeah I know what to expect from you and you know what to expect from us absolutely and so then we'll send our sort of final proposals that will be talking about any of the sort of food and beverages that they're liking any if they're looking for something a little bit more bespoke we'll sort of introduce our executive head chef James and look at what kind of menus Do we want to do shading style? Do we want to do something totally different? Whereas you don't have to have like a set book standard.

Lesley: Like, right, so you don't have like, cause most places I'll have like, so you can have this, like a package, b package, c package, so it's totally bespoke. I love that. I wish I was getting married.

Sam: I think our team love it as well. Put something like, they're like, what can we do next? Just make something so different. It just means that every day that you're coming in, nothing's ever the same. especially if you're looking for our drinks, we don't do drinks packages. So if we want his and her cocktails, we'll introduce Dave for Events Operations Manager that'll do one tasting with them and what we'll sort of see is our certain cocktail that they love, like can we incorporate that into the day? Just really get to know your couple.

Lesley: So it's very personal.

Sam: Very, it's such a great goal.

Lesley: Yeah, that's cool.

Sam: And then when we're sort of speaking to them as well, if they're looking for a certain type of DJ or a celebrant, we'll then pop that into the final proposal as well. just that they've got sort of little tips to go off of as well.

Lesley: Yeah, well that's cute. That's really nice. It just shows that you care. You've gone that step beyond so that it's not just a case of, so you've come to Chrome Licks, but that's it, the journey starts here. We don't care about anything else, but you're obviously saying that that's not what you guys are doing. That's really good.

Sam: From a sort of touch point, sort of getting to know your couples is like the most fun thing ever because every couple's different.

Lesley: I loved it. See, when I was doing it, I genuinely, I loved it. I would be there for two hours trying to jump, And it wasn't necessarily about the wedding, it was about how did you propose, when did your birthday, like when did your mom and dad's birthdays, are we gonna get to meet them? I wanted to know if they got a dog, I can't, like goldfish. Ask everything because it shows that you genuinely care.

Sam: And you get that back from them as well.

Lesley: Absolutely.

Sam: They come in quite shy and nervous and you've also got to start the conversation and it's, they start to warm up to you and then that's when you know you've got that really good connection and they'll be emailing for you.

Lesley: Because always your initial meet is, isn't it? It's always like a handshake. And then by the time that these are hugging you.

Sam: And then you get cuddles and you're like, oh, this is great.

Quick fire questions

Lesley: And that is so important. I think that's lovely. That's really, really nice. So on our podcast, Sam, we always do these sort of quick fire questions.

Sam: Okay.

Lesley: Brace yourself. Are you ready? What makes you happy in life?

Sam: Oh, definitely spending time with my family. That's really big to me, so.

Lesley: Have you got a big family?

Sam: Yeah, they're a tummy, that's massive.

Lesley: Oh, that's good. She's just cute.

Sam: Yes, we're all really close, even if my partner's family, like, his little niece is just adorable. I just love her. Just spending time with friends, family.

Lesley: That's so important.

Sam: Yeah, it's so important.

Lesley: What makes you sad?

Sam: Do you know, I've been thinking about this. So it doesn't make me sad. It makes me frustrated.

Lesley: Oh, what is it, what is it?

Sam: when you get gusted by a couple.

Lesley: Yes.

Sam: It just really riles me up.

Lesley: Same as me with suppliers. I'm like, just tell me no, or just tell me, yeah, like, just tell me. Just tell me.

Sam: Just tell me something. Just say, even like, no, full stop. Like, I will take that.

Lesley: Absolutely.

Sam: It's just, you put in all this work.

Lesley: Your time and effort.

Sam: Everyone's busy. Yeah. But just a little email to say, no. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll stop chasing you. Yeah, 100%. I will leave you alone. Yeah. It really frustrates me. Yeah. And I really don't think, I really don't think there's any need for it. We're all adults, we're all adults, like it's okay to know. You don't need to phone me, I'm quite happy with a little email and I will never get in back in touch with you.

Lesley: Yeah, well that's a good one, I like that. Favourite thing to do in life, apart from hanging out with your family?

Sam: Oh, drink wine.

Lesley: I think that just keeps us all saying no.

Sam: I'm just, I love going out. Even just on like if my day's off on a Monday I'm like oh where should we go for a glass of wine? Yeah. Should we pop down to like More Hall for a little bottle? Yeah. You're like sure why not? I love that. Absolutely.

Lesley: What's your hobbies?

Sam: Drinking mine.

Lesley: Do you like bingo?

Sam: I absolutely love bingo. Dang it. I feel like I'm sitting there like the grannies and I'm like this is great. You get all the gossip, sometimes you win money, that's amazing.

Lesley: I would never have pinned you for a bingo person.

Sam: Oh, I love it. Absolutely. Fair days. Fair days.

Lesley: Your favourite food.

Sam: Oh, pasta. It's got to be pasta.

Lesley: I was going to say in Italian, it's got to be pasta.

Sam: Pasta. Spaghetti. 100%. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Absolutely.

Lesley: Yeah, I'm with you on that. I do like a pasta. Do you have any sort of words of wisdom that you'd like to share with anybody out there that's looking to get married? that maybe he's thinking about Chrome Lex, or that just in general, just hints and tips of their planning process that you could potentially help with.

Wedding planning advice

Sam: Yeah, I think at the start, contact as many people as you can. That's so, so, so important. And reach, if you have questions, don't keep them to yourself, don't Google them. Reach out to your wedding planner at your events. They're there to make your life so much easier.

Lesley: Just to touch on that, don't Google. Do not Google. It is the worst thing. and don't go into social media platforms. No. One-to-one advice is always the best way to go.

Sam: I see couples come to me and say, oh, I've done chat GBT. And I'm like, no, let's just start from the scratch again. One-to-one advice will never go wrong.

Lesley: Asking someone that has the experience, the network, the clients, any of that is so much more important.

Sam: And I think people sometimes are too shy to come forward, especially couples. They'd want to be like, oh, we've not done this before.

Lesley: And no question's ever silly, is it?

Sam: Never. We've had all the silly questions multiple times. It will never be a silly question.

Lesley: I was going to say that, because a question's a question. So regardless of whether you think it's silly within yourself, it's better just to ask.

Sam: Absolutely. Ask everything, because this is the biggest day of your life. Yeah, this is the one day you'll probably spend the most money on.

Lesley: Other than buying a house.

Sam: Yeah, but then you're like, that is a one, like one day. One day, 100%. That is, and it needs to be perfect. So asking those questions, sometimes we don't know the answer as well. Sometimes we need to go out and…

Lesley: And that's fair enough.

Sam: Yeah, every day is a learning day.

Lesley: Yeah, for all of us, to be fair, for all of us. Even at 53, like, you don't know everything. You don't know everything. So thank you so much for coming into the studio today, Sam. It's been an absolute pleasure and keep us informed and if there's anybody out there that wants any information on Chrome Lix about visiting Chrome Lix, then reach out to either myself or Sam and you'll be able to get things sorted for you, but thank you so much, it's been incredible.

Sam: Thank you so much for having me.

Lesley: It's been a pleasure.

Sam: Thank you so much.
