About this business
Celebrate People is a multi-belief organisation based on humanist values. We conduct ceremonies as well as providing support and counselling. Our highly trained and experienced celebrants represent our humanist values of love, kindness, equality, compassion, inclusion and respect. We believe that you two are central and will support you to make sure that your ceremony reflects and expresses what is important to you, your lives, your culture.
We can provide excellent Spanish, French and Italian speaking celebrants to make sure everyone is included.
We simply want you to feel cared for and supported to express your love and commitment in the way that means most to you in that special moment. You may celebrate with family and friends or run away just the two of you. Whatever you choose we are there to help you have your perfect ceremony.
We are there for you from the moment you start to think about what you want for your ceremony all the way through to you leaving for the rest of your celebrations. For most that includes making sure all the legal details are taken care of in the right way and in the right place. If you need guidance on what to include on your ceremony, we are there with many ideas and support to help you choose the best words and elements for you both.
All of our celebrants are brilliant at listening and helping as little or as much as you need them to put what is you want to say into words. For some couples this is easy, others less so. Wherever you fall on that scale we will support you in your ceremony development in preparation for the main event. Symbols and customs can strengthen what you want to say and all of us can include handfasting, drinking from the quaich, sand ceremony and many more.

The most personal, heartfelt ceremony we could have imagined
We can’t thank Susan (Douglas-Scott) enough for everything she did for us – not just on the day itself, but in the lead-up too. From the moment we met her, she was thoughtful, calm, and kind, guiding us through every step (even with almost zero hours to spare on the legal side!).
Our ceremony was everything we could have wished for: personal, intimate, full of love and laughter, and so completely us. Susan captured our story so beautifully and made the whole process feel effortless.
So many of our family and friends commented on how special it felt and that’s entirely down to her. Susan truly has a gift for what she does, and we’ll never forget how perfectly she made our day. Thank you so much Susan xx
Angus Farquhar was our Celebrate People officiant, and he did a great job guiding us through the process of designing our personalized ceremony. He even went above and beyond doing a few bits in French, as we are a culturally blended couple. Many of our guests said the ceremony was their favorite part of the weekend. Couldn’t be happier, thank you!
We got married on the 27th of September this year and we had Aileen Massie as our celebrant she did such an amazing job making our day so special and meaningful and we will be forever grateful to her for this

My husband and I were married by Sarah on 04/10/25.
She was absolutely amazing. She was super friendly and was so helpful when it came to writing and creating our ceremony. Her communication was great, she was always there to help and answer any questions that we had. Our ceremony was beautiful and perfect, thanks to her!
My husband & I were recently married by Libby McArthur.
We were desperately looking for the right person & place, to make this as personal & unique to us, as possible.
We met Libby through another celebrant, who highly recommended her & we could instantly see why.
From the start Libby was enthusiastic, helpful & a fountain of boundless creativity & insight.
Libby in fact suggested our location, as we had been looking for a beach/river, near a wooded area & a ruin.
How exciting to see our dream wedding come to life, in such a seemingly foreordained way.
The day itself was nothing short of a fairytale. Libbys guidance & gentle, enthusiastic manner, made it feel as though we’d done it a thousand times before & yet it was still the most exhilarating day of our lives.
The handfasting, oathing stone quaich & vows, all blended into an enchanting ceremony.
We honestly believe it would not have been so perfect for us, had it been anyone else performing it.
Libby is the most wonderful celebrant we could have hoped for. & our memories of the day were only enriched by her presence.
