At Katie’s Cakes our exquisite cakes are intricately designed to create a unique piece of edible art for you and your guests to enjoy. With a love of design influenced by a career in architecture I ensure my cakes are not only visually stunning but taste delicious too. Blending simplicity and elegance with bursts of color and intricate detailing each cake is finished to my meticulous high standards, and completed with my delicate sugar flower artistry.
Your cake is made fresh to order using only the finest ingredients, locally sourced where possible. A complimentary cake sample box of mouthwatering flavours will help you decide on your favourite flavours, and why not treat your guests from a selection of edible favours too. Based in East Lothian I deliver wedding cakes to stunning venues across Scotland, and if you are ready to begin your wedding cake journey let me guide you through each step along the way.

When should we book our wedding cake designer?
Once you have set your date and booked your venue I recommending securing your wedding cake designer, and other chosen suppliers, as soon as possible. A booking fee of £100 secures your date with Katie’s Cakes.
We don’t know what cake design we would like. Where do we start?
Not a problem, I’m here to help! There are lots of design elements within your wedding which will take time to organise, and your cake should reflect and complement these elements. We will have a final design consultation 4-5 months ahead of your big day, by which time all your other design elements should have been decided. Meantime, keep an eye on Pinterest and Social Media and create your own mood board or collage of features you like.
What flavours can we have?
I have a list of flavours on my website, and you can choose to have a different flavour in each tier.
What size of cake should we have?
I wish there was a magic formula! I recommend you have a cake that will serve approximately 70-80% of your guest numbers, and this is something we will discuss at the final design consultation.
Can you deliver our beautiful cake?
Yes and I would highly recommend that you allow me to deliver your cake. Rest assured that your cake will be delivered and set up at your venue on the morning of your wedding – and please just let me know if you would like a sneaky peak!
How much will our cake cost?
The final cost will depend on the final design of your gorgeous wedding cake. Starting prices are available on my website, and I will provide a tailored cost should you wish additional design elements and sugar flowers in your design.
How did you get started in wedding cakes?
My journey to wedding cakes started a long time ago with my daughter challenging me with her birthday cakes. I got the bug for cake design and attended a 5-day wedding cake course… and was hooked. It is such a joy to work in the wedding industry too.
