Tender Loving Wedding Style | Destination Hen
Our guest columnist Rachel jetted off with her bridesmaids for five whole days of hen party fun in Lisbon. From rooftop brunching to Barbie beach clubs, here’s what she got up to…
It was a super early start with a 2am airport pick up, but soon the ‘Bride’ sweatshirt and veil were on, the prosecco was poured and we were on our way to Lisboa!
After a quick stop for some fizz and the first pastel de nata of the trip, it was time for lunch at the incredible Basilio (ilovenicolau. com).
We then headed to our apartment and my bridesmaids got to work to bride-ify the place!
A quick glam up and I was ready for my first official surprise location: SEEN .
Lisbon truly is the city of rooftops and SEEN is by far the most spectacular setting for dinner!
Day Two: Rachella
Another day, another mystery location reveal!
All I knew was to pack swimwear and festival vibes and The Boujee Bride tote certainly came in handy as I packed about 300 options!
Our Uber took us out of the city and we arrived at Praia Irmao Beach Club.
Dubbed the Place of Happiness, my bridesmaids had planned the most spectacular day with our own Gipsy Saloon beach bed and personalised cocktails.
The girls did their best Beach Barbie, all in pink whilst I went fullon bridal – complete with this insane pearl hat from PomBags.
A dream day I’ll never forget!
Day Three: Brunching
I won’t lie: after a day and night at the beach club, I was slightly struggling by day three!
No rest for the bride, however, so it was up and out to Javá Rooftop – an Insta-worthy spot for brunch.
We were soon sipping cocktails once again in the sunshine before going for a wander around the city, complete with
a stop at the famous Time Out Market Lisbon.
Night three was a more chilled vibe back at the apartment with fizz and pizza.
Day Four: Spa Day
A five day hen was obviously quite the commitment so the bridesmaids planned in a day of R&R at Spa Altis Belém & Spa.
For 50 Euro per person, you get full day access to the spa as well as the stunning rooftop pool.
We spent all day here, looking out over Lisbon from the infinity pool and eating and drinking our way through the menu.
For our final day, we were up and out early for brunch at Garden Balthazar Caffe which was the perfect spot for some Monday morning fizz and eggs royale!
Lisbon has so many great shops I’d spotted on the first day so, of course, I had to squeeze in some shopping before we stopped for drinks at the luxurious Rocco – a serious must visit!
We tucked into popcorn, sipped our drinks and watched Grease on the big screen – the perfect end to the perfect trip.
