Shout out to all the girls with super-thick hair – we know the struggle of maintaining thick locks is real!

Many of us in the YSW team are blessed with really thick hair, and yes, we know we’re lucky, but it takes work.

Editor Katie has been road-testing got2b’s Oilicious to see if it can help to tame the mane.

Here’s what she thought…

One of things I find myself most jealous of Gen Z is that they will never know what it was like to grow up in the days before hair straighteners.

They don’t have to go out for the day with hair that’s got a mind of its own, or know there’s not much that can be done to salvage locks you fell asleep on wet that are now sticking out in every direction.

And they will never know what it’s like to go on a girls’ holiday with seven friends and a travel iron to get everyone’s hair looking sleek for a night out after a day in sun. I can still smell the singeing!

Hair care has come a long way since my teens and while I’ve still got a lot of hair there’s a lot more that can be done to keep it in check.

Enter Oilicious, the styling oil that’s rich in argan oil and smells divine.

It’s designed to reduce frizz and leave your hair sleek, shiny and well nourished, and, having used it for about a month now, I’m a convert.

The beauty of this product is that unlike other hair oils I’ve tried where you have to leave it on overnight and rinse in the morning, it’s so easy to apply.

A couple of pumps applied to mid-lengths and ends of towel-dried hair before your blow dry is enough to lock in moisture and calm any tendency to frizz -basically a nourishing drink for unruly big hair in a handy bottle.

You can even apply to dry hair to protect before styling.

Everyone needs their hair to be in tip-top condition for their wedding and your hair stylist will tell you to start any additional treatments well in advance of the big day with regular trims (even if you are growing it out) and plenty of moisturising treatments.

And I would urge you to add this handy oil to your routine.

What’s more, its travel size makes it great for your honeymoon too.

I brought it on a recent trip to Italy where heat and sun cream can normally play havoc with my mane but it was a real help in containing the frizz.

It’s definitely got my seal of approval.

You can pick up got2b Oilicious hair styling oil in Boots for only £5.50 for a 50ml bottle
