It’s totally up to you what style of wedding you want, but sometimes having so much choice can making honing in on ‘The One’ dress more difficult.
Which is why for our photoshoot at the majestic Mar Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort with its picture-perfect spaces and delightful gardens, we decided to go big and curate not one but two looks to help you decide.
In this second look from the shoot it’s all about whimsical vibes

Pure whimsy
Live out your fairy tale dreams with floaty skirts and feather-light sleeves
For the second contrasting look from this photoshoot we focused on soft laces and floaty tulles with billowing sleeves and skirts for a whimsical vibe.
Complementing these bridal confections, Louise Davies of Braw Blooms wove her floral magic.
“I knew instantly we would want to ensure the designs had a light, airy and natural look to them, with a slightly ethereal feel, but still with some real showstopper stems included to add impact,” she says.
“We used lots of lovely grasses and locally grown flowers including agrostemma and cornflowers, alongside some super full delphiniums.”

For both of our models we wanted to build up the hair and make-up from a more natural look with loose hair in line with this whimsical theme, to something a bit more glam and structured to go with the more sleek side of the shoot.
Make-up artist Sharon Cuthbert of Lustre Bridal worked with hair stylist Maureen Crolla of The Bride to be on our first model Kathryn (pictured at top).
“First up was a soft and glowing makeover, fitting the popular ethereal look,” says Sharon.
“This was about creating a fresh skin base and I used Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter to achieve this.”
Sharon added subtle hues from the Dior Backstage eye palette 001 to Kathryn’s upper lid, with a little depth along the lower lash line.
A soft pinch of blush with a slightly higher placement on the cheeks finished the look.

For Skye (pictured above) Rachel Victoria from ARK Bridal, was in charge of make-up and wanted to make the most out of her freckles.
“We kept the skin to a light coverage using Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin to even her skin tone, then used Made by Mitchell Curve Case to contour and blush her cheeks and a few individual lashes on her outer corners to enhance her natural lashes,” explains Rachel.
“We also went in with Iconic London’s Champagne Liquid highlighter to give that glow from within.”
Maureen from The Bride to be began work on Kathryn by blowdrying through Wow Raise the Root for extra volume and texture.
“I added some highlighted clip-in real hair extensions, then created some fun funky movement with my Jose Ember irons,” she says.

Mar Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort with its picture-perfect spaces and delightful gardens, was the perfect space for our shoot.
The Grade A listed building is known for its timeless elegance and rich history.
Seamlessly blending historical charm with modern luxury, the lavish suites have hosted royalty, while a multi-million pound investment from new owners infuses a renewed sense of splendour into the resort.

In recent months Mar Hall unveiled its newly refurbished leisure suite including a state-of-the-art gym, a 20-metre swimming pool with saunas, steam rooms, relaxation space, and an outdoor thermal suite.
Senior appointments have been made across the resort and plans have been submitted to build 30 luxury woodland lodges within the grounds of Mar Hall’s 240-acre estate.
For to-be-weds, the estate offers three distinct function suites that can accommodate intimate garden ceremonies to grand celebrations for up to 300 guests, with menus that showcase the finest local Scottish produce led by renowned chef, Tony Tapia.
Set amidst a championship golf course, Mar Hall is ideally suited for extended celebrations.
And located just 10 minutes from Glasgow Airport, it’s convenient for welcoming international guests and for your honeymoon departure.

We loved Kathryn’s look above so much it made it to the front cover of the September 24 issue.
This clean, simple A-line dress combines with a floral lacy overdress to create an ethereal look and floaty silhouette giving the bride the option to create a day-to-night change by removing the overdress and replacing it with a sparkly belt.
