One thing that we always ask our newlywed couples when we feature their gorgeous weddings in the YSW magazine and website is ‘Did you get much sleep the night before?’
Because let’s face it, while the excitement and nerves can be par for the course, they all too often lead to a broken night’s sleep.
If you’re unlucky this could leave your make-up artist facing some dark circles in the morning so I’ve been road-testing the Omnilux Eye Brightener (rrp £96.80) to see if the LED technology could combat the signs of under-eye fatigue.
Here’s how I got on…
I don’t know if it’s my age, but my social media seems to be filled these days with wonderful gadgets and gizmos, all promising to reverse the signs of aging, tighten and rejuvenate.
And with the fine lines starting to look less fine I’m up for trialling most! Well, if it’s good enough for the Kardashians it’s good enough for me.
Which brings me to the Omnilux Eye Brightener.
Omnilux claims to be the world leader In safe, effective LED skin therapy, “with over 20 years of continuous research and professional, dermatologist-recommended technology.”
The slimline cordless device is intended to treat facial wrinkles and help reduce the appearance of eyebags and puffy skin and while I felt like something out of a sci-fi film every time I caught myself in the mirror (wearing just one at a time really adds a Terminator look) application is super-easy and it’s really comfortable to wear.
Once fully charged you apply an adhesive hydrocolloid patch to the device which holds it in place on your undereye area for the full treatment time of 10 minutes. Then you simply replace the patch and start again on your other side.
Because it’s hands free and wireless I was able to go about my normal routine as I wore it and I reckon it’d be pretty perfect for a wee wedding morning boost.
Another day, another application
And the results?
The hydrocolloid patches are designed to hydrate and firm with amino acid rich peptides and niacinimide, and definitely every time I removed a patch after treatment I really noticed how silky and soft to the touch my skin was.
Dark circles did appear reduced also and while I’ve yet to try the eye brightener out on a puffier eye or eye-bag I have hopes that it would go some distance to tackling them too.
Regular use has helped improve the feel and texture of my undereye skin and also improved make-up application there, combatting the tendency of make-up to gather in my fine lines.
Plus, there’s something that feels pretty decadent about taking some self-care time out to do something just for you. Perfect for the wedding countdown!
Did you know Omnilux also makes a full face LED mask?
Look out for Laura from team YSW‘s review in the coming weeks
