All too often bridal photoshoots entail a certain tick list – with everything looking just so and oh-so-pretty.
But what if that doesn’t reflect you as a bride and your own “alternative” tastes simply aren’t reflected?
Enter this shoot, the brainchild of hair and make-up artist Caroline Stewart and designer Mette Baillie of Freja Designer Dressmaking.
“Forget the white picket fences and lace veils,” says Mette.
“This bridal shoot throws tradition out the window and embraces the bold, the colourful, and the downright rock and roll.
“We ventured into the abandoned grandeur of Dunmore Mansion in Falkirk, Scotland, where the setting itself whispered stories of forgotten beauty.”
In this shoot metallic make-up glitters, alternative wedding dresses defy expectations and vibrant flower crowns burst with personality.
“We’ve captured the spirit of a new generation of brides who dare to be different, who celebrate love in their own unique way,” adds Mette.
“Both Caroline and I feel alternative bridal is much under-represented in general wedding photographs, so we invite you to explore the magic captured by Matt Dale from Fern Photography,” says Mette.
Matt says, “We wanted something a bit more gritty than your usual wedding photos.
“We achieved this by using alternative models and an abandoned and graffitied mansion house.
“Colours were also very important to us so we used some biodegradable smoke bombs for the focal image.
“On the day was easy as we had so many talented and creative professionals in a fun and unique environment.”
