With no bride to upstage, these GROOMS encouraged their guests to wear WHITE.

Philip and Brian met on Tinder in 2014, “back when it was used to find love,” Philip laughs. A cinema date turned into hours of conversation, drinks and not wanting to say goodbye.

Eight years later, after a difficult year that included losing Philip’s mum, Brian proposed at the top of The Shard during their annual Christmas trip to London. “It had been such a hard year. That moment felt like hope.”

Both men wear identical platinum engagement bands. When Brian bought Philip’s ring, he got an identical one for himself too. “He didn’t want to feel left out,” Philip smiles.

The DECISIONS

Dunkeld House Hotel was booked first; the scenery, the setting and the ease of travel for friends and family made it an easy choice. And the theme was ‘nice day for a white wedding’. Guests were invited to wear white or keep it monochrome – a bold move that paid off visually and set the tone for something luxurious and playful.

Personal touches were everywhere. The couple are known for house-party goody bags, so of course wedding guests got them too. Packed with handwritten notes, miniature bottles of their favourite drink and Scottish tablet, it just felt them.

They wore matching white tuxedos – Brian with a black waistcoat and Philip with a black cummerbund. Later, Brian changed into a black tux, while Philip switched into an all-black kilt from Houston Kiltmakers. Their best women (lifelong friends Steph and Gemma) wore black off-the-shoulder gowns with bouquets of gypsophila. Steph’s speech left Brian “red-faced and hiding” after a playful roasting.

Both grooms carried personalised handkerchiefs gifted by Steph, embroidered with meaningful quotes about their mums, who have both passed away.

The DAY

They woke up together and got ready side by side with Champagne flowing and music playing.

Their vows were heartfelt and one line stayed with Philip in particular: “I have loved every version of you.” Through career changes, different looks and life’s hard seasons, they kept loving each other. “That’s marriage,” he adds.

The atmosphere was electric. Games and activities ran throughout the day and guests embraced every single thing. “It was so, so special.”

After dinner came a quick costume change, then their first dance, followed by a lively round of Mr & Mr. Fireworks lit up the winter sky before everyone returned inside for saxophone-fuelled dancing and an adult scavenger hunt that had guests sprinting around the marquee.

The REFLECTIONS

When asked how it felt to see everything come together, Philip answers in one word: “Relief!”

But the bigger takeaway came afterwards. The day after the wedding, sitting together, decompressing and replaying it all, was actually one of their favourite moments.

Their advice? “Look around the room and take it in, but don’t worry about not giving people enough attention. You won’t speak to everyone but they’re there to celebrate you and they’ll understand.”

Philip adds: “Remember you’re marrying your teammate and your biggest supporter. Make time for little moments just the two of you.”

“From the Champagne spray and the wildest entrance to the heartfelt speeches, sparklers and firework show, it was non-stop fun. The dance floor was easily my favourite part – pure joy, great vibes and photos that feel like one big celebration.”
